Connect exposes edition tools over MCP, REST, and gRPC. It is an access surface, not a separate capability tier.

Solo licences the Pro feature set for one Application. Enterprise adds PAdES B-LTA, HSM/PKCS#11 signing, PDF/A-4, and e-invoicing.

Delivery

Choose ionCube or signed source

ionCube-encoded

An encoded PHP build for environments with the free ionCube Loader installed at runtime and in CI. The encoding protects the delivered artifact.

Signed source

Plain PHP source for environments that require source review or support only unencoded code.

Both delivery channels grant the same licence rights. Solo uses ionCube. Pro and Enterprise offer both channels.

For B2B

Perpetual licences & OEM

Annual subscriptions are standard. Perpetual licences for the current major version and OEM or redistribution licences are available by Schedule. The Schedule sets their scope and terms.

Licence scope

Licence terms in plain English

  • “Application”

One functionally distinct software system. Development, staging, and production of the same codebase count as one Application.

  • Solo

Solo licences one Application for your own internal business use. You must be the end user. A SaaS, multi-tenant, or service-bureau offering requires a Pro or Enterprise Schedule that authorizes hosted or service use.

  • Pro & Enterprise

Pro covers one organization and unlimited internal projects. Enterprise covers the project or organization named in your order Schedule.

  • Hosted and service use

Your own application may produce documents for your customers. A multi-tenant SaaS, PDF service or API, or document service for third parties requires a Pro or Enterprise Schedule that authorizes the use.

  • Delivery: ionCube or signed source

Both channels grant the same licence rights. The encoding protects the artifact.

The EULA and your order Schedule are the binding terms and control this summary.

FAQ

Pricing & licensing questions

What’s the difference between Solo and Pro?

Both include the same engine features. Solo covers one Application for your own internal use and uses ionCube delivery. Pro covers your organization’s internal projects and offers ionCube or signed source.

What counts as “one app” for Solo?

One functionally distinct system. Development, staging, and production of the same codebase count as one Application. An unrelated product is a separate Application.

Can I use NextPDF in my SaaS?

Your application may produce documents for its own customers. A multi-tenant SaaS, PDF service or API, or document service for third parties requires a Pro or Enterprise Schedule that authorizes hosted or service use. Ask us about your use case.

ionCube vs signed source—what’s the difference?

Both grant the same licence rights. ionCube builds require the free ionCube Loader at runtime and in CI. Signed source provides plain PHP for source review and environments that support only unencoded code. The encoding protects the delivered artifact.

Do you offer refunds?

Sales are final, subject to your non-waivable statutory consumer rights and any refund our Merchant of Record grants under its buyer terms. EU/EEA and UK consumers retain the 14-day right of withdrawal unless it has been validly waived. We do not offer discretionary or change-of-mind refunds. Use the free 14-day trial before purchase. Read the Refund Policy.

Is there a perpetual buyout?

Where offered, a perpetual licence covers the current major version only. A future major version requires a new purchase. Your order Schedule sets availability and terms. See the EULA §8 for updates and maintenance.

Is trial output watermarked?

Yes. The free 14-day trial includes every Enterprise feature for evaluation use. Trial output is watermarked. Activate a paid licence by replacing the licence key; your code stays the same.
