The terms of the free 14-day NextPDF trial — what it includes, and how billing works.
NextPDF Trial Agreement — Version 1.0, effective 2026-07-01
This Trial Agreement governs the free 14-day trial of NextPDF’s commercial features. It is a short, plain-language supplement to — and is governed by — the NextPDF End-User License Agreement (EULA) v3.0. Where this Trial Agreement is silent, the EULA applies; where the EULA’s software-use terms apply, they apply to the trial too.
1. What the trial includes
The trial gives you time-limited access to NextPDF’s commercial (Enterprise) features for evaluation only. Trial builds are watermarked and are licensed for non-production use. All of the EULA’s software-use terms — including the protection technology, the watermark, and the non-production and time limits — apply for the duration of the trial.
2. The trial is free — you are charged US$0
There is no charge to start the trial. To begin, our Merchant of Record (Paddle, our authorised reseller and the seller of record) collects a valid payment method and verifies it; the amount charged to start the trial is US$0.00. The payment method is collected to confirm you are a genuine user and to prevent trial abuse — not to bill you for the trial.
A fully card-free trial is on our roadmap and in early preview. For now, verifying a payment method through our Merchant of Record is how we keep the trial free and abuse-resistant.
3. No surprise billing — the trial does not auto-renew
We will not charge you, and the trial will not silently convert into a paid subscription, when the 14 days end. We schedule the trial to cancel at the end of the 14-day period, so it does not roll over into a recurring charge. You will only ever be billed if you make a separate, deliberate decision to buy a paid NextPDF licence — your express consent is required for any payment, and is never inferred from inaction or from a pre-ticked option.
4. How your payment details are protected
Your card details are entered with, handled by, and stored securely by our Merchant of Record, which maintains its own PCI DSS–aligned payment security. NextPDF and PATEON never receive or store your full card number. The Merchant of Record is the seller of record for any future purchase and issues your invoice; see the EULA and Refund Policy.
5. One trial per customer
The trial is limited to one per customer. Attempts to start multiple trials — for example with different email addresses or payment methods — may be declined.
6. Ending the trial
The trial ends automatically after 14 days, at which point trial access stops and no charge is made. You may stop using the trial at any time before then; because the trial is already scheduled to cancel, no action is required on your part to avoid being billed.
7. Governing terms
This Trial Agreement is governed by the NextPDF EULA v3.0 and, for the purchase relationship with our Merchant of Record, the applicable Terms of Use and Refund Policy. If anything in this Trial Agreement conflicts with the EULA, the EULA’s controlling text governs.
