Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 2026-06-27
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) sets out what is and is not permitted when using the website getnextpdf.com (the “Site”) and the NextPDF software published by PATEON Network Technology Inc. (“PATEON”, “we”). It is a grounded draft pending review by counsel. It supplements the Website Terms of Use, the EULA, and the NextPDF Commercial License; where a product license is more specific, that license controls.
A. Using this website
You agree not to:
- use the Site for any unlawful purpose or to infringe anyone’s rights;
- interfere with or disrupt the Site’s operation, integrity, or security;
- attempt unauthorized access, probe or scan for vulnerabilities, or evade rate limits or other protections;
- scrape or automate access beyond what
robots.txtpermits; - submit false, malicious, or injected content through the contact or enquiry forms, or use them to send spam or to relay messages to third parties;
- upload or transmit malware, or attempt to overload the Site or its form endpoints.
We use bot-protection and rate-limiting on form endpoints and may suspend access for abuse.
B. Using the NextPDF software
These rules mirror the restrictions in the Commercial License and EULA §5. You may not:
- redistribute NextPDF Pro or Enterprise as a standalone library, package, SDK, or development tool;
- sublicense, rent, or lease the commercial editions, except as embedded in your own integrated product under a valid license;
- operate a hosted, managed, multi-tenant, or service-bureau offering whose primary value is PDF generation, conversion, or signing powered by NextPDF, unless your Schedule authorizes it;
- use NextPDF to build, market, or distribute a competing PDF library, engine, SDK, or service;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software or its encoded artifact, except where applicable law expressly permits;
- circumvent, disable, or tamper with trial expiry, watermarking, or license-enforcement mechanisms;
- store signed-source artifacts in a public repository or file-sharing service;
- exceed your licensed scope (number of Applications / Environments), or share one license across unrelated Applications.
The open-source Core and Connect editions are governed by the Apache License 2.0; this AUP does not add restrictions to your rights under that license, except that the Apache license does not grant any right to use the NextPDF name or prism mark (see the trademark guidance).
C. Lawful and responsible use
Do not use NextPDF or the Site to produce, process, or distribute material that is unlawful, that facilitates fraud (including forged or deceptive documents or signatures), or that infringes intellectual-property or privacy rights. You are responsible for the documents you generate and for complying with the laws that apply to them, including electronic-signature and records regulations.
D. Enforcement and reporting
We may investigate suspected violations and, where appropriate, suspend Site access or pursue the remedies in the applicable license, including termination for material breach. To report abuse or a security issue, contact [email protected] (security reports: [email protected]).
Governing law
This AUP is governed by the laws of Taiwan (R.O.C.), with the Taipei District Court (臺灣臺北地方法院) as the forum, without prejudice to mandatory rights under your local law.
